Husteads Auto Body

I am very glad that my insurance company recommended Hustead’s to replace my stolen catalytic converter (and a pox on all car and cat converter thieves). A big shoutout to Sam. She was helpful, knowledgeable, and thorough every time I spoke with her, on the phone over a few days and in-person today. I was hoping to get my car back by today, so I can leave for a road trip tomorrow. Even with a whacky, defective-part situation with the first catalytic converter that was ordered, I got my car back today! Very grateful for that. I appreciate everyone’s help and care, after the very frustrating experience of having my cat converter stolen. Thank you all! I will give you 5 stars. My son wants to help the Oakland location reach, or surpass, Walnut Creek’s 4.8 :-)

I've used this Hustead's Auto Body three times over the years. They've always given me exceptional service. The last time they went the extra mile for me - getting my car done early to avoid having it locked up over a 3-day weekend.

Everyone is nice and easy to work with and I'm sure they do great work (we used their Berkeley location on recommendation from our mechanic before and they did a great job and were very personable and professional), but this time we ended up going elsewhere. The reason: requiring payment in person, in advance, if privately paying (the Berkeley location does this too). I don't know what the payment processing barrier is, but it is 2026 and this is a business fixing cars, that, like ours, may not be safely driveable and that can definitely be a barrier for customers. My husband had already left for his hour plus work commute in our one working car and I was stuck debating whether I should take a bus an hour each way, when I also had work, or paying for a ride share to make a payment (which felt wrong). Instead, I ended up contacting another place closer to me and they let me send them pictures, ordered the parts from the manufacturer, and fixed it in less than an hour the next day for almost half the price of the Husteads quote. Husteads may have still been better for something more complicated, but that was our experience when I was trying to resolve things as quickly as possible.

Although it has been over two years since my repair/paint on my 2015 Hyundai, I can say that it was an Excellent Experience! The repair came out looking like New and everything was perfect. The staff was always helpful and even arranged a pick up service to come get me when work was needed! Soo 100% Perfection! Work and Staff! I have discovered a few more scratches in the paint, so I am considering bringing to Husteads Auto Body for an Estimate soon! Worth your Time and Money!

Very pleased! Only a small repair needed, but 8-year old car was returned looking new, plus inside of the car had been cleaned. We’ll be glad to recommend Husted on Market Street in Oakland.
